Tullibardine
As early as 1488, Scotland's King James IV is said to have bought beer on the Tullibardine site to celebrate his coronation at Scone Palace – a year still displayed prominently at the visitor centre today, even though the actual distillery was only founded in 1949.
Tullibardine stands for a soft, full-bodied Highland style and is particularly known for unusual cask finishes such as Sauternes and various red wines. From the Tullibardine Sovereign to the more mature 15 Year Old, you will find the right bottle for every occasion in our selection.

Why does 1488 appear at the visitor centre when the distillery is much younger?
Beer has been brewed on the Tullibardine site in Blackford since as early as the 15th century. According to legend, King James IV bought a barrel of ale here in 1488 on his way to his coronation at Scone Palace – he would go on to become the last British monarch to die on the battlefield, at the Battle of Flodden Field in 1513. In 1798, William and Henry Bannerman opened an earlier Tullibardine distillery that operated for only a year. Today's distillery was only built in 1949, when renowned distillery architect William Delmé-Evans converted a former brewery into a whisky distillery.
How did Tullibardine end up with a French owner?
After several changes of ownership – including Brodie Hepburn Ltd. (1953), Invergordon (1971), and Whyte & Mackay (1993, with a shutdown in 1994) – a consortium called Tullibardine Distillery Ltd. bought the distillery in 2003 and resumed production. Since 2011, Tullibardine has belonged to the French company Picard Vins & Spiritueux.
