Product information "Tullibardine 225 Sauternes Finish"
Tullibardine had this single malt ripen for 12 additional months in former Sauternes wine barrels of the Chateau Suduiraut.
The barrels hold 225 liters each, hence the number on the label.

Nose: Lemon peel and allspice, creamy vanilla and golden syrup - followed by cocoa butter and black pepper
Taste: initially spicy with notes of candied orange and orange marmalade - behind it pineapple and white chocolate
Finish: Medium length on the finish with soft notes of sweet spices

Ist der erste Schluck noch leicht sprittig, so macht der mittellange Abgang doch Lust auf mehr und offenbart den Malt als herrlich cremig-fruchtig.
Das Finish mag nicht jedermanns Sache sein, es erinnert stark an die edelsüßen Sauternes Weißweine - mir aber gefällt es sehr gut und zu dem Preis allemal.

In diesem Whisky überwiegt für mich die Würze. Er zeigt Zitrusaromen, Vanille, einen Anklang von Kakao und eine leichte Süße. Im Abgang ist er deutlich süß und würzig. Der deutliche Geschmack nach Sauternes ist etwas für Liebhaber.
