Inchmurrin

With just 13 inhabitants, Inchmurrin is one of Scotland's quietest corners - and at the same time the largest freshwater island in the British Isles, situated in Loch Lomond. It's after this very island that the Loch Lomond Distillery named its mild single malt, produced since 1964 by the former owners of the Littlemill distillery on the loch's northern shore near Tarbet; the first distillation took place in 1965. As part of the distillery's growing "Island Collection", Inchmurrin today represents the soft, unpeated counterpart to its peated sister bottling Inchmoan, itself named after another, smaller island in the same loch.
