Kininvie

In 1990, Janet Sheed Roberts - the last living granddaughter of company founder William Grant - founded a new distillery in Dufftown, Scotland, which was to become one of the whisky industry's best-kept secrets. Kininvie was the Grant family's first new Speyside distillery since the founding of Balvenie in 1892, initially serving purely to meet growing global demand for blended Scotch ingredients such as Monkey Shoulder. For over two decades, not a single drop of Kininvie reached the market as a standalone single malt - it wasn't until 2013 that the very first official Kininvie bottling, a 23-year-old, appeared exclusively in Taiwan, followed in 2014 by its launch in the UK and Nordic countries.
