Ron Quorhum
Four maestros roneros from four different countries - Cuba, Colombia, Venezuela and the Dominican Republic - came together to create a rum line that bundles the diversity of Caribbean and Latin American rum traditions into a single brand: Ron Quorhum, developed by the Dominican distillery Oliver & Oliver, the very company the exiled Cuban Oliver family founded in the Dominican Republic after the 1959 revolution. Characteristic of Quorhum is its roughly 30 percent share of so-called "rones de malta" - a blend of pot still and column still distillate that gives the rum its silky texture and aromatic depth.

What does the name "Quorhum" mean?
The name plays on the Latin "quorum" - a assembly with enough members to make decisions - referencing the four maestros roneros from Cuba, Colombia, Venezuela and the Dominican Republic who jointly developed the recipe.
What are "rones de malta"?
Around 30% of the blend consists of "rones de malta" - a combination of pot still and column still distillate that provides a particularly silky texture and complex aromatics, rather than relying on a single distillation method.
