Arcane
In 2010, Frenchman Thibault de la Fournière realised his idea of a rum capturing the perfect interplay of tropical climate, rugged volcanic soil and fertile earth on Mauritius - and so the Arcane brand was born, since then part of the French spirits house Ôdevie. Rather than maturing in fresh oak casks like many rums, Arcane ages in used casks that previously held whisky, brandy or port - an approach that gives the rum unusual depth and richness. Mauritius itself has been one of the world's preferred sugar cane growing regions for over two centuries, forming the ideal foundation for Arcane's rums.

Instead of new oak casks, Arcane uses used casks that previously held whisky, brandy or port - creating complex, layered flavours rarely found in classically matured rums.
