Monny Musk
Founded as a sugar cane estate as early as 1755, Monymusk is among the oldest rum production sites in Jamaica - the actual distillery followed only in 1901 with the construction of the Monymusk Sugar Factory, though a distinct rum brand of its own is documented as far back as 1808. In 1976, the Jamaican government took over the operation as part of the Sugar Corporation of Jamaica, before the distillery passed in 1980 to the newly formed National Rums of Jamaica (NRJ) - the same consortium that also controls Long Pond. To this day, Monymusk stands for powerful pot still rums, often matured in classic bourbon barrels and finished in unusual casks such as Spanish Tempranillo wine barrels.CODE: BLACK25

How old is the Monymusk brand really?
The sugar cane estate has existed since 1755, and a distinct rum brand name is documented as early as 1808 - making Monymusk one of Jamaica's most historic rum names, even though the current distillery wasn't built until 1901.
What connects Monymusk to Long Pond?
Both distilleries belong to the National Rums of Jamaica (NRJ) consortium, founded in 1980 to bring several struggling Jamaican rum operations under one roof and legally separate them from their associated sugar estates.
Flavour profile
