Johnnie Walker
As early as 1820, Kilmarnock grocer John Walker began blending different Scotch whiskies to create a consistent, approachable flavour – laying the foundation for what remains the world's best-selling Scotch whisky brand to this day.
Johnnie Walker stands for approachable, fruity, mild blended Scotch with only a delicate smoky note. From the classic Red Label to the Green Label 15 Year Old, a pure blended malt with no grain content, you will find the right bottle for every occasion in our selection.

How did a grocer become the biggest name in Scotch?
At just 14, after his father's death, John Walker took over a corner shop in Kilmarnock with his family and built it into a wine and spirits merchant. It was only around 30 years later that he began blending his own whiskies – a direct response to the inconsistent quality of individual single malts at the time. The brand, initially called "Walker's Kilmarnock Whisky", was renamed Johnnie Walker in 1908; artist Tom Browne designed the now-iconic "Striding Man" logo for the occasion. Under managing director James Stevenson, the brand later adopted the slogan "Born 1820 – Still Going Strong". Today, Johnnie Walker belongs to Diageo and is its most important Scotch brand.
Why does Johnnie Walker come in so many different colours?
The various "label" tiers represent different levels of maturity and cask compositions: from the mild Red Label, through the more mature Black Label 12 Year Old, to the unusual Green Label 15 Year Old, the only one to blend exclusively single malts with no grain whisky, technically making it a blended malt.
Overview of the most popular bottlings
1. Johnnie Walker Red Label
The original, best-selling blend.
Taste: Light and fruity with a subtle smoky note.
Serving suggestion: Classic in a highball or with cola.
2. Johnnie Walker Black Label 12 Year Old
The more mature, more complex tier.
Taste: Vanilla, toffee, and fruit notes with more peat smoke than the Red Label.
Serving suggestion: Neat or on ice for more depth.
3. Johnnie Walker Green Label 15 Year Old
A pure blended malt with no grain content.
Taste: More complex and malt-forward than the classic blends.
Serving suggestion: For anyone who prefers to avoid grain whisky components.
