Knob Creek Farm was where Abraham Lincoln formed some of his earliest childhood memories - today part of the Abraham Lincoln Birthplace National Historical Park in Kentucky. This historically resonant name was chosen in 1992, of all people, by Booker Noe, grandson of the legendary Jim Beam and himself a sixth-generation master distiller of the Beam family, for a new bourbon line deliberately intended to revive the bold, undiluted pre-Prohibition style. Launched as part of the Jim Beam Small Batch Bourbon Collection, Knob Creek became one of the most visible faces of American bourbon's premiumization wave in the 1990s - with nationwide distribution and the backing of one of the industry's biggest names.
