In 2015, the first Quiet Man whiskey was bottled in Derry, Northern Ireland: the first Irish whiskey bottled in the city in more than 100 years.

Who was the "quiet man" the brand is named after?

In June 2015, the first Quiet Man was bottled: the first Irish whiskey bottled in Derry in over a century.
How did an American-Irish partnership come about?
Building the brand was made possible by the long-standing collaboration between Niche Drinks in Derry and the American spirits company Luxco, which dates back to 1986. The Quiet Man is now sold in more than 27 countries and comes in two main variants: a traditional blend and an 8-year-old single malt. There were even original plans for a dedicated "The Quiet Man Distillery" with an investment of around £12 million; however, the project was scrapped in 2018 for commercial reasons.
