Cameronbridge
The exact founding year of the Cameronbridge grain distillery in Windygates, Fife, is unknown - it is first documented in 1813, and eleven years later it passed into the ownership of the Haig family. As early as 1830, Haig equipped the site with patent stills, making Cameronbridge the first distillery in Scotland to use this continuous distillation method - a technical head start that still makes it the country's oldest grain distillery today. It wasn't until the 1920s that production shifted entirely to grain whisky, and since 1989 gin has also been made here. Following extensive modernisation in the late 1990s, Cameronbridge now supplies up to 30 million litres of alcohol annually - among others for the blends of Johnnie Walker, Haig, White Horse and Buchanan's.CODE: BLACK25
