The Teeling Whisky Company

Translation: -

Region: Dublin

The apple does not fall far from the stem.

Can a family be more closely associated with Irish whiskey? In 1782, Walter Teeling founded a distillery in Dublin's Marrowbone Lane. And over the next few centuries, the family stayed true to the whiskey business. In 1987, John Teeling built the Cooley Distillery - then the only Irish whiskey distillery not owned by any international corporation. And in 2015, John's sons Jack and Stephen made sure Dublin had a working distillery again. Your Teeling Whiskey Distillery is located on Newmarket, just a stone's throw from where it all started 233 years ago.

A little history

After selling the Cooley Distillery, founded by John Teeling, to Jim Beam in late 2011, his sons Jack and Stephen founded their own whiskey company: the Teeling Whiskey Company. Since 2012 they offer under the name Teeling Whiskey selected, fine Blended, Grain and Single Malt Whiskeys. In 2015, the time had come: The Teelings opened their own distillery in the heart of Dublin. The first and only since Jameson relocated production to Midleton in the 1970s.

What are they doing?

Under the name Teeling Whiskey, they offer a variety of whiskeys that are believed to originate from the Cooley Distillery founded by John Teeling: Blended Irish Whiskey, Single Grain and a variety of single malts through to the 30-year-old Vintage Resreve Platinum Bottling.

We will have to wait a few years for the first whiskeys to be produced in the new Dublin distillery.

3 reasons to love Teeling

1) Because Dublin finally has an active distillery again.
2) Because family tradition is something beautiful.
3) Because the teelings just know how whiskey goes.

The one drama for the lonely island

Filled with a powerful 46%, the Teeling Single Grain Irish Whiskey is well worth a visit: finished in California's Cabernet Sauvignon wine barrels, the whiskey has an unusually deep color and a delicate sweet, slightly spicy and wonderfully fruity flavor.
