There are only a few malts that have such complexity and smokiness as the 16 year old Lagavulin.
It starts off sweet and then develops its spiciness and peatiness with force.

Tasting Notes: This is how the Lagavulin 16 year old tastes like
- Nose: strong with lots of smoke, iodine and a sweet spice - reminiscent of strong green tea, with sherry tones and creamy vanilla
- Palate: strong and rich in taste, full mouthfeel with a fruity Sweetness and Sherry - lots of peat and oak
- Finish: long, spicier Finish - the peat smoke again, plus dates, figs and vanilla

Ein wunderbarer und vielschichtiger Islay Whisky. Rauch und Süße harmonieren hervorragend. Ein klasse Tropfen zum günstigen Preis. Den habe ich immer im Barfach.

Auf diesen Wiskhy bin ich im Kilian's gekommen (Irish Pub in München, am Dom),
aber irgendwie schmeckt der gelieferte Lagavulin deutlich schärfer, vielleicht braucht er noch ein wenig Standzeit bei mir im Schrank.

Ich mag diesen Whisky; leider kommt er nicht in seiner natürlichen Farbe ins die Flasche. Das hat er nicht nötig.

Schön schwer und rauchig, dabei weich und leicht süßlich auf der Zunge mit samtigem, langem Abgang. Ein genialer Tropfen!
