Double Barrel Whiskey is a unique combination of three different whiskeys – two Tennessee whiskeys with a traditional bourbon mash bill and a straight rye whiskey. Each of these whiskeys matures independently for at least six years in new oak casks and fresh ex-bourbon casks, before being married together and matured for a further year in fresh, heavily charred American oak casks. This special maturation produces robust aromas of toasted hardwood in a dark, amber-coloured whiskey. Heaven's Door Double Barrel Whiskey is filtered through maple charcoal before bottling (also known as the Lincoln County Process), resulting in a smooth, mild whiskey with a soft finish.
