Portrait: What makes the Finlaggan Original special
Finlaggan is the name of the castle on the Scottish Hebridean island of Islay, which was formerly the seat of the Lord of the Isles was.
Finlaggan is a Single Malt Whisky from one of the well-known distilleries on the island of Islay, unfortunately The Vintage Malt Whisky Company is not allowed to mention the name for legal reasons.
A genuine, peaty Islay single malt whiskey, with lots of peat and smoke in the aroma and taste, plus medicinal and phenolic notes, moist leather and a hint Liquorice.
So everything you would expect from an Islay whisky.
Tasting Notes: This is how the Finlaggan Original tastes like
- Nose: intense aromas of sweet malt and strong peat smoke - followed by ripe apples and pears
- Palate: mouth-filling and complex with phenolic notes, with gauze bandages and damp leather - lots of sweet smoke with a little sea salt - over everything malty Notes
- Finish: medium long and full in the finish - hints of licorice, leather again and peat smoke

Großartig. Klassisch Islay und trotzdem eigen. Ich würde ihn süd-westlich auf der Insel ansiedeln. Auf jeden Fall ein ausgezeichnetes Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis.

Ebenfalls ein leicht rauchiger Whiskey. Ist etwas weicher und runder als der Islay Mist. Etwas für die lange Nacht.

Für mich kommt dieser Whisky sehr frisch daher. Rauchig, aber nicht extrem. Dunkle Früchte und eine malzige Süße. Mittellanger Abgang.
Dieser Whisky scheint noch jung zu sein, dennoch, mir hat er geschmeckt. Sein Geld ist er allemal wert.
