Portrait: What makes the Finlaggan Original special
Finlaggan is the name of the castle on the Scottish Hebridean island of Islay, which was formerly the seat of the Lord of the Isles was.
Finlaggan is a Single Malt Whisky from one of the well-known distilleries on the island of Islay, unfortunately The Vintage Malt Whisky Company is not allowed to mention the name for legal reasons.
A genuine, peaty Islay single malt whiskey, with lots of peat and smoke in the aroma and taste, plus medicinal and phenolic notes, moist leather and a hint Liquorice.
So everything you would expect from an Islay whisky.
Tasting Notes: This is how the Finlaggan Original tastes like
- Nose: intense aromas of sweet malt and strong peat smoke - followed by ripe apples and pears
- Palate: mouth-filling and complex with phenolic notes, with gauze bandages and damp leather - lots of sweet smoke with a little sea salt - over everything malty Notes
- Finish: medium long and full in the finish - hints of licorice, leather again and peat smoke

Ein leckerer, torfiger (nicht zu stark) Whisky,
der in diesem Preissegment einfach toll ist
und den wir immer wieder gerne bestellen!

Sehr guter, preiswerter Whisky.
Toll rauchig, viele geschmackskomponenten. Für einen Abfüller zu diesem Preis echt empfehlenswert. Wüßte zu gerne wer dahinter steht. Bowmore? Zumindest habe ich hier ne Verbindung

Er ist torfig aber nicht zu sehr, rauchig und vollmundig. Für diesen Preis toll.

Woher kommt dieser Whisky ? Er hat Süße, Rauch und Malz. Zudem etwas Fruchtgeschmack, für mich grüne Äpfel. Ein sehr angenehmer Whisky.

Geruch: Pertinax, Malz, Torfrauch,
Geschmack: Rauch, blumige Töne, saure Früchte, vielleicht etwas Menthol
Abgang: mittellang, rauchig, trocken, eichig

Dieser Single Malt ohne Altersangabe gehört zu den sehr rauchigen Whisky´s. Ein schöner Whisky für mal zwischen durch. Das Aroma ist sehr rauchig, leicht phenolisch, etwas süße und kräftig. Ich denke, dass es sich um einen sehr jungen Whisky handelt, bei dem man keine komplexe Aromen erwarten darf. Geschmacklich ganz ordentlich, kräftig, etwas süße, würzig, Rauch und ein wenig Salz. Man darf solch einen Whisky natürlich nicht mit einem 12 jährigen einer nahmhaften Islay - Distellerie vergleichen.
Ein schöner, günstiger Whisky mit einem guten Preis/Leistungsverhältnis!
