For this whisky, Springbank lets the barley dry over a peat fire for 48 hours.
Less than 100 Casks are filled every year.
The saltiness of one complement each other very nicely Campbeltown whisky and the created peat note.
Tasting Notes: This is how the Longrow Peated tastes
- Nose: salt and a leathery smokiness - almost like a dock worker's damp leather jacket in Campbeltown
- Palate: light and sweet with green apples and rhubarb - then suddenly a heavy dose of smoke
- Finish: again sea salt and smoke - long finish

Ein schöner Standard und Whisky für jeden Tag, wenn es mal deutlich rauchig sein soll.
Die Jugend merkt man, steht ihm aber gut: maritim, rauchig, wild, dazu aromatisch.

Ist ok. Für mich rauchig-malzig genug, aber ich persönlich nleibe eher bei Islay-Malt.

Man merkt ihm die Springbank-Gene sofort an. Selbst der dezente Rauch kann das weder im Aroma, noch im Geschmack verschleiern. Durch den Rauch erreicht er ein weniger mehr Komplexität als seine näheren Verwandten Springbank 10 oder Hazelburn 10. Deren gewohnt latent malzigen, Toffee lastigen Schmelz mit Rauch gepaart - klasse!
