Profile: What Makes Arcane Extraroma Special
Most people probably associate rum with the Caribbean rather than the Indian Ocean. Yet the island nation of Mauritius offers some world-class rums with a style all of their own. Rums from Mauritius are generally regarded as very spicy, combined with the aroma of fresh sugar cane. Arcane Rhum Extraroma reflects the “Mauritius style” perfectly. It is made from freshly pressed sugar cane and matures for 12 years using the solera system. This long, considered maturation creates a complex aroma profile and makes the rum very smooth. In the glass, it presents in a shining gold tone. The sample is ideal for an easy introduction to this Mauritian solera style.
