Profile: What Makes Rubus Gin Special
200 grams of raspberries per bottle, regional ingredients from the Kaiserstuhl and citrus fruit from Sicily: that's Rubus. This New Western dry gin is a highly aromatic distillate, perfect neat, in a zesty gin and tonic, or in cocktails. That's hardly surprising, as its makers are always on the trail of exciting flavours. Rubus was developed in 2016 by Florian Faude together with bartenders Alexander Mayer and Leopold Langer for the Panama Papers brand. The bartenders also rely on natural ingredients for Rubus, sourcing the citrus fruit personally from Sicilian farmers. The intense flavours remain fully intact for connoisseurs, as Rubus is non-chill-filtered – chilling can therefore cause natural cloudiness. This summery gin is distilled at Faude Feine Brände in the Kaiserstuhl.
