Profile: What Makes Finlaggan Old Reserve Special
Finlaggan is the name of the castle on the Scottish Hebridean island of Islay that was once the seat of the Lord of the Isles. Finlaggan is a single malt whisky from one of the renowned distilleries on the island of Islay, though The Vintage Malt Whisky Company is unfortunately unable to name it for legal reasons. A true, peaty Islay single malt whisky, with plenty of peat and smoke on the nose and palate, joined by medicinal and phenolic notes, damp leather and a touch of liquorice – everything you'd expect from an Islay whisky. Jim Murray wrote of this single malt whisky in his Whisky Bible 2007: “Brilliant … simply outstanding.” He awarded it 94 out of 100 points and added that anyone who fails to get hold of a bottle of this release will regret it for a long time.

Sehr gutes Preis/Leistungsverhältnis.
Für einen doch noch ziemlich jungen Islay schon recht ausgeprägte Aromen. Könnte allerdings mehr Alkohol vertragen.
Trotzdem unbedingte Kaufempfehlung.
