The Glengoyne 10 year old is a classic Scottish single malt whisky from the Highlands, located close to the border with the Lowlands. The Glengoyne Distillery was founded in 1833 and is now one of Scotland's most traditional distilleries. Its geographical location is particularly remarkable: The distillery itself is located in the Highlands, while the warehouses are directly across the road in the Lowlands – a rare feat in the whisky world. Glengoyne is known for its exceptionally slow distillation process, which is among the slowest in all of Scotland. This approach reflects the distillery's philosophy of producing whisky with care and precision. Instead of peat, the distillery uses unpeated barley, focusing on clean flavors and traditional craftsmanship.
The Glengoyne 10 Year Old matures in a combination of sherry and bourbon casks, with great emphasis on high-quality cask selection. Maturation takes place entirely in the distillery's traditional warehouses. Glengoyne avoids artificial coloring to preserve the whisky's authentic structure - in keeping with Scottish whisky tradition.

Schöner milder, ungetorfter Whisky, ähnlich wie die irischen Whiskys. Guter Preis.

Im Herbst letzten Jahres waren wir in Schottland und haben die Destilliere von Glengoyne besucht. Nach der Verkostung war mir klar: es muss in meine Bar. Jedes Mal kommt man wieder ins Schwärmen. Das ist nicht das letzte Mal, dass ich den Whisky gekauft habe. Ganz bestimmt nicht!

Viel Karamell in der Nase. Im Geschmack fällt er etwas ab, da fehlt ihm etwas vanillige Süße, aber da ist er wohl zu jung. Wobei da andere 10 jährige da etwas mehr bieten. Hier fehlt der Körper. Hier lieber ein paar Euro drauflegen und den 15 Jährigen nehmen.

Mehr als ein Einsteiger-Single-Malt. Stelle ihn mit einem Glenmorangie 10 gleich. Halt alles Geschmackssache. Ein Besuch in der Destillerie lohnt sich.
