The Glengoyne 10 year old is a classic Scottish single malt whisky from the Highlands, located close to the border with the Lowlands. The Glengoyne Distillery was founded in 1833 and is now one of Scotland's most traditional distilleries. Its geographical location is particularly remarkable: The distillery itself is located in the Highlands, while the warehouses are directly across the road in the Lowlands – a rare feat in the whisky world. Glengoyne is known for its exceptionally slow distillation process, which is among the slowest in all of Scotland. This approach reflects the distillery's philosophy of producing whisky with care and precision. Instead of peat, the distillery uses unpeated barley, focusing on clean flavors and traditional craftsmanship.
The Glengoyne 10 Year Old matures in a combination of sherry and bourbon casks, with great emphasis on high-quality cask selection. Maturation takes place entirely in the distillery's traditional warehouses. Glengoyne avoids artificial coloring to preserve the whisky's authentic structure - in keeping with Scottish whisky tradition.

Beim Geschmack scheiden sich ja bekanntlich die Geister, deshalb kann ich hier nur für mich sprechen. Glengoyne 10 Jahre ist neben meinem absoluten Favoriten (Glengoyne Cask Strength) mein Standard Whisky - ohne Farbstoff, gut trinkbar und schmeckt i.d.R. auch Whisky Neulingen.

großartiger Malt, für mich ein Geheimtipp als inoffizieller "Lowland" (da südlicher "Highland"), überaus vielschichtig und freundlich, auch für Einsteiger
