Profile: What Makes Glengoyne 12 Year Old Special
Glengoyne produces a light, malty malt with a lovely soft note and very nice fruit aromas. The 12-year-old matures in ex-bourbon and ex-sherry casks and does entirely without peat smoke – a clean, sweet and approachable Highland malt with more depth than its gentle manner suggests.
Tasting Notes: What Glengoyne 12 Year Old Tastes Like
- Nose: Soft toffee and acacia honey, behind them peach and nectarine with maple syrup and toasted barley; toffee apples
- Palate: Ripe, juicy grapes, the honey again with notes of vanilla and coconut – some toffee and chocolate in the background; oak spice
- Finish: Long and oily – roasted coffee and spicy oak

Preis Leistung ist ok. Keine Offenbarung, aber ist halt auch nur ein 12-jähriger. Ein Besuch der Destille in Schottland lohnt sich.

Kann noch etwas an Jahre haben, dafür aber als 12-er ganz gut gegenüber anderen Speysidern.

Die älteren mögen mehr bieten, sind ihrem Alter entsprechend runder, milder, weicher (daher nur 4 Sterne), aber das P/L-Verhältnis passt einfach.

Recht komplexer Whisky, vor allem für einen Highlander in dieser Preiskategorie. Karamell und Frucht zu Anfang, welche in Eiche und Sherry übergehen.
