Portrait: What makes the Islay Storm special

An Islay malt with almost acrid peat smoke, you can feel the proximity to the sea, rich in phenols.
The taste is very nice Peat sweetness, combined with a little iodine and sea salt with traces of vanilla and spices.
The finish is breathtakingly long with smoky waves.

Tasting Notes: This is how the Islay Storm tastes like

  • Nose: strong peat smoke, almost acrid, with salty sea spray and moist Canvas
  • Palate: mouth-filling with a strong sweet peat note, combined with iodine and sea salt - above all light hints of vanilla and spices
  • Finish: breathtakingly long finish, smoky waves, sea salt, iodine and leather are present

Hat den Erwartungen komplett Stand gehalten.
Unglaublich rauchig, aber weich am Gaumen, einfach herrlich!

Ein wunderbares Stöffchen!

Geruch: rauh, maritim, Zitrone, Apfel, Torffeuer
Geschmack: rauchig, Fruchnoten (Apfel, Apfelsinenschale), gertreidig, Eiche
Abgang: langanhaltend, wärmend, rauchige Nuancen noch lange zu spüren

Wollte doch mal probieren ob der wirklich seinem Namen gerecht wird. Leider nicht. Man erwartet bei dieser Aufmachung etwas anderes. Für jene, die das erste mal Whisky von der Insel probieren wollen empfehlenswert. Ardbeg oder Bowmore haben dann doch mehr was von "Storm".
