Old Ballantruan 15 Year Old is a heavily peated Tomintoul, laid-back in manner yet with big peat smoke, plus softer flavours of vanilla, toffee and a touch of woodiness. The whisky matured at least 15 years and is bottled at 50% ABV; it was launched in mid-2018.
On the nose gentle “peat reek” with mild gun-flint notes is softened by sweet, mature, creamy Speyside malt, with herbal, heathery spice.
