Legendary myths are brought to life through art and present hand-picked single malts with distinctive taste and fascinating character.
The first fable series deals with the legend "The Ghost Piper of Clanyard Bay".

Clanyard Bay is a bay a few miles south of Port Logan on the western Dumfries peninsula Galloway in Scotland.
The nearest larger town Stranraer is approx. 24km away and it is only a short hop across the water to Ireland.

The story of the whisky: "The Ghost Piper of Clanyard Bay"

The unmistakable sound of the bagpipes is in Scotland common sound, especially in the cities and at festivals and celebrations.
But what happens when the piper himself disappears into thin air?
There are several stories about phantom pipers in Scottish history and folklore.
In days gone by, a dark network of tunnels was said to have stretched from the Cove of Grennan to the cliffs of Clanyard Bay near Stranraer.
The locals believed that fairies lived in these tunnels and caves , and no one dared to go in and disturb them, until one day a piper boldly entered the caves.
He played loudly on his bagpipes, accompanied by his faithful brown dog.
The music blared for hours and faded away slowly until she could no longer be heard.

Suddenly the dog ran out of the cave, frightened and howling without hair!
The Piper was never seen again.
Although the caves have long since disappeared, passers-by have on summer nights heard the distant sound of bagpipes ringing deep underground.
Maybe it's the wind whistling through the ancient underground caves, maybe it's just a trick of the mind, or maybe... just maybe it is Ghost of the Piper, forever playing his Scottish tunes.

Chapter Three: Moon

The Distillery Dailuaine is hidden between the foot of Ben Rinnes and the River Spey on Scotland's Speyside.
The name is derived from the Gaelic "dail uaine", meaning green valley means, and it's a title that fits well with the green, dewy origins of this naturally scented Single Malt Scotch Whisky fits.

Dailuaine was founded in 1853 by farmer William MacKenzie, the distillery was rebuilt several times, just like its contemporaries along the Spey Valley.
1889 It was the first distillery to be equipped with architect Charles Doig's pagoda roof.

In 1884, Scotland's first pagoda was installed on a kiln whose slope was deliberately steep to increase the contact time between peat smoke and drying malt minimize, one of the clearest indications of how the old "Strathspey" style was changing.
At the end of the 19th century, Dailuaine was the largest single malt distillery on Speyside and also one of the most innovative in terms of design.

What you need to know about the distillery

Dailuaine was the first distillery to feature an iconic pagoda roof, allowing peat smoke to escape from the malt while protecting the grain from the elements.
In 2013, Diageo invested £6 million in a state-of-the-art bioenergy system in the distillery.
In 1898, Dailuaine founded a company with the distilleries Imperial and, somewhat bizarrely, Talisker on the Isle of Skye.
