Profile: What Makes Don Papa Baroko Special
Don Papa Baroko is made on the Philippine island of Negros. The distillate from molasses, known locally as “black gold”, ages several years in American oak barrels; a little local sugar cane is added to the blend for gourmet flavours. In the sample it is easy to get to know.
The rum is smooth and full-bodied, with vanilla, honey and candied fruit and a long, powerful finish with a hint of spicy oak.
