Arran Quarter Cask
Consumers can claim their rights under the legal guarantee of conformity, for example if goods:
- do not match the description;
- do not function as intended.
Sellers are liable for any lack of conformity which existed when the goods were delivered, and which becomes apparent within the legal guarantee period. Sellers in such a situation are required to offer:
- free repair or free replacement;
- in some cases, a price reduction or full reimbursement.
Some countries have a longer legal guarantee period. For second-hand goods, a shorter period may apply, but not less than one year.

Profile: What Makes Arran Quarter Cask Special
Arran’s Quarter Cask in new packaging: only quarter casks with a capacity of 125 litres were selected for this bottling. The whisky first matured in first-fill ex-bourbon barrels, then for at least 18 months in smaller quarter casks made of American white oak. Because the ratio of wood to whisky is larger in the small casks, the wood gives more to the whisky.
The Arran Distillery in Lochranza in the north of the Isle of Arran was founded by Harold Currie, a former director of Chivas Brothers. It has made a name for itself with a lively, fruity house style shaped by citrus, apple and malt. The Quarter Cask is bottled at 56.2% ABV and without chill filtration.
Tasting Notes: What Arran Quarter Cask Tastes Like
- Nose: Right at the start the citrus fruit aromas Arran is known for, plus sweet spice of cinnamon and vanilla; white grape and peach, cocoa, cake and caramelised malt
- Palate: Distinct pineapple and fresh apple pie with toasted brioche – plus the citrus fruit again and malty notes; coconut, honey, pepper, ginger and spicy oak
- Finish: Long and balanced with spicy tones, some lemon and vanilla; slightly drying oak
