The Ron Centenario 20 Años Fundación is a multi-award-winning premium rum from Costa Rica, produced by Centenario Internacional S.A. - a company originally part of the Seagram Group that has specialized in rum production since 1967. Under the motto "The Spirit of Costa Rica", the brand embodies the unique interplay of fertile volcanic soil, tropical climate, and high-quality sugar cane that thrives in the country's interior and serves as the basis for rum production.
Maturation takes place using the complex Solera process, in which rums of varying ages – between approximately 6 and 20 years - are blended together. Storage in former American white oak bourbon barrels lends the distillate a complex structure, whereby the age does not apply to each individual component, but rather reflects the oldest rum contained.
With an alcohol content of 40% vol. and with the addition of color, the Fundación is bottled as one of the flagship products of the range. International awards such as Gold at the ISW 2009 and the International Rum Conference 2015 in Madrid, as well as 94 points from the Beverage Tasting Institute, attest to its high standing.
