The name inevitably suggests that this rum comes from Austria. Far from it: the Albert Michler distillery is based in Bristol, England, and the rum comes from the Dominican Republic, produced at Oliver & Oliver using the solera system. In 1863, Albert Michler was purveyor to the Austro-Hungarian imperial court and one of the first to bring Caribbean rum to prominence in Europe.
