Portrait: What makes the Tè Bheag Nan Eilean Gaelic Whisky special.

Admittedly: The name sounds like a magic spell from Hogwarts - “Tschei weg nan jellan" - but it's actually Gaelic and means "Little Lady of the Isles." And as befits a true Scottish lady, she comes with style, history, and a good dose of pride.

Tè Bheag originates from the Isle of Skye, where Sir Iain Noble Bart founded the company Pràban Na Linne in 1976 - which, incidentally, means "The Little Firm by the Bay". Noble was not only a whisky enthusiast, but also a language savior. In addition to his fine blends with exclusively Gaelic names, he even founded a Gaelic college to keep the Highland language alive. One could say: A man who believed that education and whisky belong together. And who would disagree?

By the way, the Scots say: A whisky with a Gaelic name tastes twice as good. Okay, that may not be a scientific fact, but it's an excellent excuse to treat yourself to a glass of Tè Bheag.

And one more thing: Behind this "little lady" are some very big names - including Glenfarclas, Talisker, Lagavulin, Glenrothes, and Tamdhu. Come on, with such a lineage, even a clan leader would be proud.

In short: If you don’t speak Gaelic, you can drink it. Slàinte mhath!

Tasting Notes: This is how the Tè Bheag Nan Eilean Gaelic Whisky tastes like

  • Nose: Soft and balanced with a beautiful balance of sweet malt aromas and fine smoke - underlying hints of honey, oat biscuits, a touch of sea salt, and subtle sherry nuances - a gentle, slightly maritime scent typical of the coastal regions.
  • Palate: Round and full-bodied - the sweet notes of grain and honey combine harmoniously with a fine, yet present smoky note. A hint of oak brings structure, while light spice notes and a trace of fruit provide depth. Despite its age and blended character, the whisky is surprisingly complex.
  • Finish: Medium-long, soft, and warming - the smoke remains subtly present, accompanied by a dry spice. and a slightly salty aftertaste reminiscent of a fresh sea breeze

Ein Blended, leicht rauchig, würzig kräftig im Abgang.
