The first single malt whisky from the Cotswolds distillery, founded in 2014, distilled from 2014 Odyssey barley and matured in first-fill oak casks. A fruity-spicy first release from the Cotswolds with an oily, malty character. The sample makes it easy to get to know.
Tasting Notes: What Cotswolds Single Malt Whisky Tastes Like
- Nose: Intense aromas of honey and soft caramel, plus ripe peaches and apricots – marzipan in the background; shortbread and fresh citrus peel
- Palate: Oily with plenty of malt and brown cane sugar – very spicy with notes of sweet orange marmalade; heather honey and Christmas spices
- Finish: Long and spicy, plus dark, ripe fruit and some maple syrup; orange, cinnamon and oak
