Profile: What Makes Legendario Elixir de Cuba Special
Cuba’s rum liqueur! Strictly speaking, Legendario is not a rum, because it has less than 37.5% ABV – this results from the rum being refined with raisins, which brings it to an alcohol content of only 34% ABV. The elixir was created in the 1940s in Havana and to this day is regarded as an ambassador of Cuban sweetness and joie de vivre.
For Elixir de Cuba, aged Cuban rum is enriched with raisins, prunes and natural flavours. The result is a speciality between rum and liqueur: a dark amber colour with golden highlights, an aroma shaped by raisins and caramel, and a soft, velvety character.
It is at its best well chilled or on ice as a digestif – but it also works in dessert cocktails and with chocolate pastries, as its sweetness and dark fruit harmonise with cocoa.

Ein Rum-Liquer, den ich im Urlaub in einem Kubanischen Restaurant kennen- und lieben gelernt habe. Ich habe überall versucht, ihn noch einmal zu bekommen und war über glücklich, dass ich ihn hier gefunden habe. Am besten genießt man ihn eiskalt, direkt aus dem Gefrierfach!

Wir haben diesen Rum in Kuba kennen gelernt. Er schmeckt richtig gut. Fast wie ein Likör; aber nicht zu süß. Einfach köstlich.
