In 2016 Glen Moray presented the new 15-year-old single malt whisky – matured in ex-bourbon and ex-sherry casks. Dried fruit, dark chocolate and spice shape the Speysider. The sample makes it easy to get to know.
Tasting Notes: What Glen Moray 15 Year Old Tastes Like
- Nose: Strong sherry aromas and soft butter toffee – behind them sweet oak and light smoke; dark chocolate and mixed spice
- Palate: Distinctly the sweet sherry, ripe dark fruit, some ginger and vanilla with dark chocolate – then the oak again; treacle tart and orange peel
- Finish: Long and rich with plenty of dark fruit and spicy tones; the oak stays
