Profile: What Makes Wolfburn Aurora Special
The second bottling from the young Wolfburn distillery, the northernmost distillery on the Scottish mainland. Aurora matured in former bourbon (80%) and sherry casks (20%) and is bottled from unpeated malted barley without chill-filtration and without colouring. A soft, warm malt in which the sherry stays present.
Tasting Notes: What Wolfburn Aurora Tastes Like
- Nose: Distinct pleasant sherry sweetness, plus dried fruit and malt; freshly cut grass, autumn fruit and a hint of coffee and dark chocolate
- Palate: Warming and soft, the sherry again, then ripe autumn fruit and nutty notes – spicy tones in the background; floral hints and vanilla
- Finish: Long, warming finish, the sherry and the fruit stay present

Für einen jungen recht ordentlich
Wer einen frischen Whisky mit zarter Würze und das zu einem guten Preis möchte ist hier richtig. Ich bin gespannt wenn die ersten "Alten" zur Verkostung kommen.

Kein Vergleich zu der Erstabfüllung von Wolfburn - die mittlerweile Northland heißt. Leider verliert er deutlich. Eine längere Reifezeit als drei Jahre hätte bestimmt nicht geschadet, was man bei dem Northland nicht so spürt.

Wirkt älter als er ist. Hatte weniger erwartet. Wer bereit ist für einen abwechslungsreichen Whisky liegt hier richtig.
