Product information "Lagavulin 8 Year Old 48% vol. 0,7l"
The whiskey journalist Alfred Barnard visited the island of Islay and the distillery Lagavulin around 1880 and was thrilled by both the place and the 8-year-old serving him - he described the whiskey as "exceptionally fine".
The 8-year-old Lagavulin matured in European and American refill oak barrels - an incredibly complex single malt - sweet, smoky and warming.

Aroma: soft in the aroma with pure, fresh tones - traces of milk chocolate and lemon, behind it a combination of tea and smoke - the proximity to the sea and fresh grain
Taste: pleasantly silky mouthfeel, now clearly a Lagavulin! sweet and smoky - the smoke gets sharper and more - the sweetness decreases
Finish: very long and smoky on the finish

roh ,frisch, pfeffrig, laga - rauch ,einer für aufs maul ...aber mit klasse !
dem muss man eine zweite chance einräumen bevor man zu schnell urteilt ;)
seine echte klasse entwickelt er erst nach ein paar drams . . . .und dann wird man nach bestellen . am besten hier ;)

Ein junger Lagavulin, der vom Geschmack her an den 12y erinnert. Dieses Jubläums Bottling hat seine Daseins Berechtigung und ich hoffe dass der Lagavulin 8 weiter produziert wird

Exzellenter junger Lagavulin. Sicher fehlt ihm die Tiefe und Reife des 12 oder 16 - aber wen stört das schon, wenn man diesen Malt (endlich) mal in seiner jungen und trotzdem vollen Schönheit erleben darf? Klasse Zeug, vielleicht mit etwas Vorsicht zu genießen, wenn man sonst nur den 16er kennt.

Ein ganz toller Lagavulin, der sicher eher dem 12 jährigen ähnelt als dem 16 jährigen, dabei aber trotz des jungen Alters schon unglaublich rund ist. Ich finde er hat zurecht bei Whiskyfun 90 Punkte bekommen!
Schön, dass es diesen Whisky bei maltsandmore gibt (ich habe ihn woanders bisher nicht gefunden) und dass die Lieferung wieder so prompt geklappt hat!
