Profile: What Makes Hibiki Japanese Harmony Special
The premium blended whisky from the House of Suntory is a careful blend of Japanese whiskies from the three Suntory distilleries Yamazaki, Hakushu and Chita. Ten different malt and grain whiskies, aged in five different types of oak, go into the blend.
The bottle has 24 facets, representing the 24 traditional seasons of Japan. “Hibiki” means “resonance”.
Tasting Notes: What Hibiki Japanese Harmony Tastes Like
- Nose: Distinct rose scent and lychee, traces of rosemary and old wood
- Palate: Sweet honey and candied oranges, plus white chocolate; white peach and apricot with some cinnamon; silky and smooth
- Finish: Long, with a pleasant Mizunara (Japanese oak) note
