Profile: What Makes Paul John Peated Select Cask Special
A peated single malt whisky from the multiple-award-winning distillery John Distilleries in Goa, India – winner of the gold medal at the ISW 2015. It matured in ex-bourbon barrels and is bottled at cask strength and without chill filtration. Peat from Scotland is used for the peat note.
Paul John is the single malt brand of John Distilleries, founded in 1992 by Paul P. John in Bangalore. The distillery in Cuncolim in Goa began producing the single malt in 2008, and the whiskies have been available internationally since 2012. Besides the ISW gold medal, the Peated Select Cask has, among other things, received a San Francisco World Spirits Competition double gold.
In the glass it combines sweet barley sugar and walnut with earthy peat and campfire smoke.
Tasting Notes: What Paul John Peated Select Cask Tastes Like
- Nose: Sweet barley sugar and walnut, joined by earthy peat aromas and campfire smoke; tropical fruit and spice, plus a hint of orange peel
- Palate: Even more smoke and sweetness – the peat becomes more present, plus notes of tropical fruit; barbecue smoke, more sugar and slightly damp, earthy tones
- Finish: Lightly fruity and spicy in the finish

Hatte vorher den Bold, der mir besser geschmeckt hat. Trotzdem, mit Wasser, sehr gut trinkbar.

Sein Rauch macht sich bereits im Aroma bemerkbar.Rauch,süße,würziger Erde. Ausbalanciert mit Demerara Zucker.Kakao und leichtwürzigen Akzenten.Angenehm,wieder Kakao mit einem Kleks Marmelade.
