Writers' Tears is produced by the Walsh Whiskey Company, which is dedicated to reviving classic Irish whiskey styles. The whiskey is a so-called 100% pot still blend, which means that only pot still whiskey is used - a typically Irish blend of malted and unmalted barley, distilled in copper stills. This production method has long been at the heart of Irish whiskey.
Maturation takes place in former oak bourbon barrels, which gives the whiskey depth and structure. Chill filtration is deliberately avoided to preserve its natural texture. Writers' Tears is bottled at 40% ABV. at drinking strength.

Ich finde ihn äußerst rund, also für meinen Geschmack auch preislich tollen Irish Pot Still.

Aroma: Süß mit Vanille und Honig. Dazu frischer Apfel.
Geschmack: Würzig mit Ingwer, Butterscotch und etwas Eiche.
Abgang: Lang und nussig mit Milchschokolade.
