Ron Cristobal
"Cristóbal" is simply the Spanish form of Christopher - a tribute to Cristóbal Colón, as Christopher Columbus is known in the Spanish-speaking world. Fittingly, the individual bottlings in the series are named after his three ships from 1492: Pinta, Niña and Santa María. Developed by Danish spirits importer 1423 - the same company behind the single-cask S.B.S. series - Ron Cristobal matures in the tropical climate of the Dominican Republic in American white oak barrels, combining European exploration history with Caribbean rum tradition.

What are the individual Ron Cristobal bottlings named after?
Pinta, Niña and Santa María were the three ships with which Christopher Columbus (Spanish: Cristóbal Colón) set sail for the Caribbean in 1492 - the series' naming is a direct historical reference to this, not to a fictional admiral.
Who is behind the brand?
Ron Cristobal is developed by Danish importer 1423 and produced in the Dominican Republic - the same company that also distributes the well-known single-cask S.B.S. series.
Flavour profile
Taste: Mild and soft with caramel pudding, freshly baked wheat pastry and a slightly grassy note from fresh cane juice, plus a touch of vanilla.
Recommended enjoyment: Neat or on the rocks as a mild, approachable digestif.
Start with Ron Cristobal Gran Añejo.
