Presidente
When Fidel Castro seized power in Cuba in 1959, the Oliver rum family - descendants of Juanillo Oliver, who had emigrated from Spain in the 19th century - had to leave their homeland. In 1963, the next generation finally found a new home in the Dominican Republic, founding Oliver & Oliver there to continue their traditional, Cuban-rooted rum-making. Under the name Presidente Marti, a solera-aged rum line emerged that carries on this Cuban-Dominican family tradition to this day - the same distillery behind the Opthimus and Ron Quorhum brands.

Is Presidente Marti the same as the well-known Dominican beer?
No - a common mix-up. The Presidente beer brand (since 1935) and the Presidente Marti rum are completely independent products from different companies that simply share the same Spanish honorific in their name.
What connects Presidente to Opthimus and Ron Quorhum?
All three brands come from the same distillery, Oliver & Oliver, founded by the exiled Cuban Oliver family in 1963 in the Dominican Republic - each brand sets its own focus in maturation and style.
Flavour profile
Taste: Soft and full-bodied with ripe tropical fruit, fresh vanilla and a fine toffee note, warm and long-lasting on the finish.
Recommended enjoyment: Neat or on the rocks, to fully enjoy the solera maturation.
Start with Presidente 15 Year Old.
