Profile: What Makes Presidente 15 Year Old Special
A magnificent solera rum from the Dominican Republic – bottled at the age of 15 years. Ageing in the solera system gives it a velvety texture and a beautiful aromatic intensity with woody and spicy notes. The sample makes it easy to get to know.
The Oliver family left Cuba in 1963 and settled in the Dominican Republic, where their rums are still made today.
Tasting Notes: What Presidente 15 Year Old Tastes Like
- Nose: A light fruity sweetness, plus spicy wood aromas; after aeration coconut and spices, softened by a touch of wood; sweet notes of molasses, vanilla and chocolate
- Palate: Very soft and mouth-filling with strong notes of ripe tropical fruit and fresh vanilla – a light toffee note above all; honey, leather and caramel in a warm roundness, plus cinnamon and a hint of tobacco
- Finish: Soft and warming in the long finish; with cocoa notes
