Die Demerara Distillers in Guyana stehen seit Generationen für legendäre Rums mit großer historischer Tiefe, und mit der limitierten Edition „The Last Casks“ von El Dorado setzen sie diesem Erbe ein eindrucksvolles Denkmal. Der im Jahr 1998 komponierte Rum vereint Destillate aus der Diamond Coffey Still sowie aus der seltenen, heute nicht mehr betriebenen Tri-Canada Redistillation Still und gilt als kunstvoller Blend aus der Hand des verstorbenen Master Distillers George Robinson. Über viele Jahre reifte dieser Rum im tropischen Klima Guyanas in ehemaligen Bourbonfässern und entwickelte dabei ein außergewöhnlich vielschichtiges Aromaprofil. Abgefüllt wurde er ungefiltert direkt in Guyana als streng limitierte Edition. Im Glas zeigt er sich in einem tiefen Goldton mit bernsteinfarbenem Schimmer. In der Nase entfaltet sich ein lebendiges Zusammenspiel aus Honig, Mandeln, Banane und feiner Orangenzeste, typisch für Destillate aus Metallbrennblasen. Am Gaumen überzeugt er mit einer komplexen Struktur aus Lakritz, dunkler Schokolade, grünem Apfel und getrockneten Früchten, getragen von Tiefe und Eleganz. Der lange, harmonische Nachhall macht diesen Rum zu einer eindrucksvollen Hommage an die große Tradition der Demerara-Destillation und zu einem besonderen Genuss für Liebhaber charakterstarker Abfüllungen.
