El Dorado Single Still Uitvlugt Rum wurde im Jahr 2006 im originalen französischen 4-Column Savalle Still aus Metall sorgsam destilliert. Dieser historische Metallstill ist ein Erbstück aus dem 18. Jahrhundert des Uitvlugt Sugar Estate an der Westküste der Demerara-Region in Guyana. Die Abfüllung gehört zu einer Serie von sechs speziell kreierten Uitvlugt Special Cask Finish Rums der Demerara Distillers und zeichnet sich durch ihre außergewöhnliche Herkunft und Reifung aus. Wie alle Abfüllungen dieser Serie durchlief auch dieser Rum eine insgesamt fünfzehnjährige Reifephase. Zunächst lagerte er sieben Jahre in ehemaligen Bourbonfässern aus amerikanischer Eiche, bevor er zur weiteren Veredelung im Rahmen eines sogenannten Double Ageing acht Jahre in sorgfältig ausgewählten französischen Eichenfässern reifte, in denen zuvor rubinrote Portweine lagerten. Diese Fässer stammen aus einer einzigen Quinta in der Region Porto im portugiesischen Douro-Tal und verleihen dem Rum zusätzliche Tiefe, Struktur und Eleganz.
