Don Papa comes from the Philippine island of Negros, affectionately Also called "Sugarlandia." No wonder – sugarcane grows here, as if Mother Nature had given it an extra dose of sweetness. This is precisely what the distillery on Negros Occidental uses to distill the rum that now puts half the world in a tropical mood.
The name "Don Papa" is a tribute to Dionisio Magbuelas, a Filipino freedom fighter who rebelled against colonial rule in the 19th century. And as befits a true hero, he now has his own rum brand – with a tropical label and plenty of personality.
The addition "Alon" means "wave" in Tagalog – and that's exactly what this special edition aims to be: a small wave in the vast rum ocean. Not loud, but stylish. Not intrusive, but full of character.
