The Mash Bill reads like a small Irish grain festival: malted and unmalted barley, oats, and rye - all strictly local and lovingly cultivated. This ensures the typical single pot still depth that is so highly valued.
After pre-aging in heavily charred ex-bourbon barrels, which provide its foundation, the whiskey is allowed to spend another round in French oak barrels previously filled with fine Marsala Superiore and Fine from Cantine de Vinci. Sounds classy? It is!
Boann – named after an Irish river goddess - brings a touch of Mediterranean temperament into play with this Marsala finish, without losing its typically Irish charm. A little bit of Ireland, a little bit of Italy, and a lot of character - it's enough to make you curious.
