Portrait: What makes the Bladnoch Alinta Reserve special!
For the “2023 Batch Release” in the new Peated Collection, which is limited to 2,000 bottles, Master Distiller Dr. Nick Savage exclusively selected 1st-fill exAmontillado Sherry Hogsheads, which were then produced in a natural color, without cold filtration and in the usual Bladnoch Single Malt strength of 46.7%vol. alcohol content in the bottle.
All barrels are from 2009 - here the previous owners of Bladnoch Distillery processed a batch of 18 tons of heavily peated malt once in their eight years of production.
There are only extremely limited cask stocks, which is why the Bladnoch Alinta Reserve is truly a Bladnoch rarity.
Tasting Notes: This is what the Bladnoch Alinta Reserve tastes like
- Nose: roasted walnuts and dried sweet apricots are present
- Palate: nutty notes, paired with some peat smoke and white chocolate, plus the walnuts again and slight hints of pine nuts
- Finish: sweet and delicate in the finish again with clear tones of pine nuts
