Embargo Añejo Blanco is a blend of five Caribbean rums: four light rums and one from Martinique that marries agricole and molasses spirits. The agricole brings the aromatic energy of fresh cane and ripe banana into play, the molasses the richness of brown sugar.
The rum is aromatic and surprisingly complex, yet accessible and versatile.
Tasting Notes: What Embargo Añejo Blanco Tastes Like
- Nose: Banana that becomes more and more tart and candy-like, plus cut grass, Alpine herbs and brown sugar; floral notes carried by the alcohol strength
- Palate: Round; the initial ardour disappears, giving way to vanilla and orange peel; Alpine herbs with brown sugar and warming oaky spice
- Finish: Smooth, with mild oaky notes
