Profile: What Makes Oban Distillers Edition Special
Oban lies in the harbour town of the same name in the Scottish Highlands, and the distillery is one of the smallest and oldest in Scotland. Since 1997, Oban has bottled the Distillers Edition once a year: after classic maturation, the whisky is finished in former Montilla fino casks. The dry fino influence lends Oban’s maritime character a lightly salty edge along with notes of stone fruit and nutty malt.
