The art of cask maturation is the hallmark of Murray McDavid – an outstanding wood treasury defines the independent bottler, founded in 1994 by Mark Reynier (CEO of Waterford and Renegade), Simon Coughlin and Gordon Wright (Springbank Distillery). The single malt and grain whiskies, vatted malts and blended whiskies appear in various series – at the heart of which is “Benchmark”: only first-class single malts find their way into the turquoise-labelled bottles. Tomatin 13 Year Old, after maturing in former bourbon casks, received a further maturation in former oloroso and Pedro Ximénez sherry casks.
